Disneyland

So, I dropped Jacob off at school at 4:30 am to take a bus to Disneyland.  He'll be there for the weekend sharing a room with 3 other boys from his school band.  The band will be playing some tunes in the Disney park tomorrow night- how fun is that!

Jackson's first band concert

Jackson is learning the french horn.  A strategic move- hoping it will help him get into college on a scholarship.  Always thinking that kid!  He's doing pretty well considering his busy school schedule only allows for band every other week, and foreign language the other.  He looked mights handsome on stage even if he did get a bad hair cut the night before (he was growing his hair out for that long shaggy Justin Bieberish look.  He was so close to having it until he went for his first haircut by a real stylist, not related to him.  She just did what she wanted and took all the length off the top.  Poor kid, he was upset!) Hope he sticks with it.

Wrestling

This was Jacob's second year of wrestling.  Last year was a tough year.  The team was new at his school, and he had a lot to learn.  This year was much better.   He learned new moves and became quicker on his feat.  I was able to watch the matches without covering my eyes.  It's hard to see your baby in pain.  In my eyes, his opponents take it much to seriously and fight unfairly.  Of course, that is the wrestling right?  It's either him or you.  Of course I didn't get to see many matches this year but here's some pictures from the last tournament.  He quickly pinned his first opponent, lost on points in the second match, and was pinned in the first round of his last match.

Testing 123

This is a test to post a blog from my phone.  I have time while the kids play video games at K1 Speedway.

Cake-a-palooza

So I've been wondering why after working so hard to loose weight in March and April, why I've gained back a few pounds.  Then I went through our pictures to post about the kids and this is what I found......

Aron's Father's Day cheesecake
9lbs of heaven in a Chocolate Salted Carmel Cake
Aron's 41st Birthday cheesecake
My 39th Birthday cake, made completely by the boys

I think I see the problem now.

Jackson - Time to leave 4th grade behind

Jackson and his best friend Cody (in orange and blue shorts)
his other best friend Alex
and his teacher

Jackson loved 4th grade and as no surprise was the one of the teachers pets.

Party Rock Anthem

Every day I'm shuffling......Jacob and his class had a flash mob at Arden Fair mall as an end of the year, good by to elementary school event.  He was so excited about it.  His class spent weeks practicing the routine. The local news was there (click on link below) as well as many parents with their own video recorders.  So many parents that it was obvious something was going on.

Jacob's hopes for the future

We devour a delicious cupcake
Jacob and the best teacher I've ever met, Mr. A.  He's like a big kid himself and inspired the kids to do their best and be enthusiastic about not just school but life.  Jacob really came out his shell in his class.
